While most of Americáђةs children know the story of the very first Christmas, few know about how the holiday came to be celebrated in America. As the Christmas season approaches each year, excitement, faith and spirituality build throughout the nation. But it was not always so. Despite their devout Christianity, some of the first settlers to arrive here did not celebrate Christmas at all. However, as our young nation developed and grew, so too did the traditions that surrounded December 25th each year. In this festive film, young viewers will be taken back in time to experience the very first Christmas in America and learn how the celebration of the holiday developed and changed over the past 400 years. The time travelers will meet some of the most important and influential Americans, such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln and Clara Barton, and learn about the impact that each had on Christmas becoming what it is today.
