After a lost puppy spends a night in the forest, a young country worker named Peter finds him and takes him home to his aunt and uncle's farmhouse. Newly named scruff, this loveable little pup is curious to learn about his surroundings from the other farm animals, and from the animals living in the wilderness. But Scruff is mostly curious about the ways of the children and adults, even if these ways are challenging to understand.
